A Rosen By Any Other Name

This is a comedy about Stanley Rosen, a Jewish boy growing up in Sault Ste. Marie in the 1940's. It's time for his bar mitzvah, and his mom wants formal dress, photo-invitations, and a statue in chopped liver. His dad won't help; he's more interested in changing the family name to avoid anti-Semitism. Serious theme, but very funny.

I played Manny, a cousin of Stanley's, who had been discharged from the Navy for being shell-shocked. He comes to the family home to seek release from the war, but he doesn't get it. This is still my most challenging part so far.
